My personal journey as an integrative nurse coach and wellness practitioner has profoundly been influenced by 39 years as a Registered Nurse and nurse educator. As a former neonatal and pediatric critical care nurse working with families in crisis, I have accompanied people through some of their most vulnerable moments. Through this experience, I have come to appreciate the transformative potential available to individuals who are experiencing disruption in their lives, when offered a safe container to be vulnerable to their deepest longings and fears. This insight led me to enhance my understanding of the innate healing potential in all human beings who are interested in living with a greater sense of purpose and well-being, regardless of their personal circumstances.
Over the past 18 years, my focus has shifted from traditional Western health care to a more integrative approach to health and wellbeing, both individually and collectively. As part of this shift, I completed a PhD, focusing on Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory as a meta-framework for locating Integrative Health Care within Nursing.
I am a certified Integrative Energy Healing Practitioner, as well as a certified Nurse Coach and graduate of the Integrative Nurse Coach Academy | International Nurse Coach Association. In addition, I am a certified Life Mission Caravan Guide with the Caravan of Remembering, and practitioner of The Way of the Heart field integrations.
I have studied and practiced a variety of integrative healing modalities that have also supported my own inner work, so I can be present and responsive the needs of my clients. My personal experiences balancing work, school, parenting, and other commitments have given me insight into some challenges my clients may encounter in their own journeys, as well as the opportunity to walk my talk with self-compassion and kindness.
